Description: Joe Zimmer, photographed in July of 1968, casting on the Choptank River. Zimmer was a founder of the Gurney Godfrey Dinner and Maryland Fly Anglers. His accomplishments in fly fishing for saltwater big game species were amazing. Zimmer served as president of the Brotherhood of the Jungle Cock. During the last years of his life Zimmer turned his attention to Atlantic Salmon fishing and excelled in that as well. Zimmer was a perfectionist in all he did, and fishing was no exception.
